Communication for Engineering and Technology - offered by Vancouver Community College
Vancouver Community College has over 40 years’ experience teaching English as an additional
language and is well-known for quality instruction, professional instructors, and interactive
classes.
Communication for Engineering and Technology is a course that is designed to enhance
workplace communication. This course teaches culturally appropriate speaking in industry-specific
contexts. In addition, there is a focus on pronunciation for clear speech and on an increase in oral
grammar accuracy. A textbook may be required. Your instructor will tell you on the first day of
classes.

Length: 14 weeks - 2x week (evenings)
Time: Monday/Wednesday 6:30-9:30 pm
Start: January, April & September
Program admission requirements
Be an internationally-trained Engineer or Technologist
Canadian Language Benchmark(CLB) 7 or above all skills (ESL Pathways, LINC or CLBPT), or
ELA score of min 36 Reading, 13 essay, 20 Listening, 24 Speaking, or
IELTS score: overall band 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5)
